Tail

Canadian breed standard

"Set on high, carried up, and may be docked. The tail set is distinctly ahead of the pinbone. Never curled nor carried over the back."
These are two excellent tails.
  
Showing with an undocked tail has only recently been acceptable in Canada. Until our breed standard is further revised to include the ideal for a natural tail the above criteria applies.
Both of these tails are curled. A fault. It has been noted that Poodles with curled tails doing water retrieves may get weeds 'caught' on the tail, dragging them down and causing difficulties swimming.
  
This dog exhibits both a short pelvis and a low tailset.
